Engineering Manager - Contract - circa €700 per day - 6 months - Fully Remote - Berlin Based Scale-up - NodeJS/Typescript - Serverless and/or microservices architecture
Our client a Berlin Based Scale-up SaaS business is looking for an Engineering Manager to help lead their current Engineering team (13 engineers) and play a key role in growing the team over the next 6 months. You should be a "coach first, player second" and excel in leading cross-functional, autonomous teams.
This is a fully remote role, with the team based around Europe and English is the business language..*For UK Contractors - this role is outside IR35.
Key Experience:
- Extensive experience in managing, developing and mentoring other leads
- Ability to drive and oversee the delivery of multiple workstreams, initiatives and technical KPI's
- Deep understating of S/W processes and agile methodologies
- Experience and passion for building, launching and scaling great products
Tech Stack:
- JavaScript, React and Sass on the Front End
- TypeScript & PHP on the Back End
- Own infrastructure on top of Amazon Web Services
- A mixture of serverless architecture and microservices using Kubernetes
Responsibilities:
- Manage the team of Software Engineers, with a focus on inspiring, mentoring and building strong relationships.
- Be the Delivery Manager for the product engineering team.
- Establish processes and address growing pains during high-growth phases
- Assist the team when taking architectural decisions, contribute to the priorities
- Foster close collaboration and operational mindset among the engineers
- Support the product vision and translate into a long-term road map
- Work closely with the Recruitment Team to expand the team, interview candidates and promote the business.
