QUALITY ASSURANCE LEAD/TESTER

I. OBJECTIVES

1. The Digital Solutions Division (ITDS) requires the services of a Quality Assurance Lead, herein referred to as “QA Lead”, with humble leadership experience, excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, and proven experience in the quality control and assurance activities in the initiation, preparation, execution and control of projects or business-as-usual support using agile frameworks and methodologies.

II. REPORTING ARRANGEMENT

2. The QA Lead will report to the Senior IT Officer (Digital Solutions) or assigned Scrum Master. Reporting arrangements may later vary as the need arises.


III. SCOPE OF WORK/TASKS

3. The QA Lead performs the following responsibilities:
• Leads or prepares strategies and plans to manage quality control activities.
• Leads the preparation, review, execution and maintenance of test standards, artefacts, and reports
• Leads shift left and test automation initiatives
• Conducts periodic reviews to ensure that teams and/or individual comply with quality control standards and proven practices, and reports corrective action recommendations to immediate supervisor
• Actively participates in Scrum, Kanban or other events as quality control subject matter expert and/or team member
• Defines and maintains key quality control indicators and assist teams in optimizing results in this area
• Performs the role of a mentor or coach to a new team member or lead
• Plans and implements knowledge transfer and transition activities
• Works with vendor and/or other ITD counterparts to: (a) ensure that appropriate quality control standards are met (b) coordinate review, procurement, delivery, installation, or setup of testing requirements
• Assigns work and monitors team/individual performance
• Conducts functional and/or nonfunctional testing either through manual or automated testing, individually or as team member
• Other responsibilities maybe assigned as needed.

• Test Strategy, Test Plan, Test Cases and Scenarios, Test Data, Test Automation
• Reports
• Other key deliverables maybe required as appropriate.


IV. QUALIFICATIONS

4. The following qualifications are being sought:
• Suitability to undertake the responsibilities mentioned above at the required level
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in leading and executing quality control and assurance activities, of which, at least 3 years are spent working with agile teams
• Must possess a solid understanding of ISTQB and BCS Test Body of Knowledge (TBOK)
• Minimum three (3) years’ experience in test automation using Selenium, Oracle Applications Test Suite, or similar test automation applications
• Experience in DataDog Synthetics testing is a plus
• Must possess a solid understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile frameworks
• Must have good understanding of database design (relational, object oriented, OLAP cubes), and able to write basic to intermediate queries
• Have strong knowledge of testing eOperations and/or Procurement Review System
• Must have the ability to quickly understand and relate to new products, technology or strategy
• Strong collaborator with the ability to work in a fast paced, deadline intensive environment
• Good interpersonal skills
• Innovative, self-motivated, has strong organizational skills and detail oriented
• Works with minimum supervision
• Can work from any location be it virtually or physically
• Excellent written and oral communication and technical documentation skills in English
