Onboard Software Engineer - C/C++

Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires experienced Software Engineers to join their team in their clients' office in Gaydon, Nr Coventry, Warwickshire.

This is a 24 month temporary contract (possibility to extend), to start on 15th October.

The right candidate should have good skills and experience in C/C++ coding languages.

Role Purpose:

Software Engineer within the Electrical Engineering department.

This is a critical role for delivering new products and programs across multiple present and future releases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver functional Software as translated from customer requirements/concepts
  • Deliver high quality deployable innovative software increments that demonstrate business value in line with the client standard software delivery/quality practices
  • Delivery fully traceable Software increments from requirement to code unit including Low Level Design
  • Deliver Continual Improvements to the software development process
  • Model Development Engineer (Inclusive of Software Engineer)
  • Deliver functional models to internal/external party and manage developed image
  • AutoSar development (Inclusive of Software Engineer)
  • Deliver configurations to support base software and the integration of application software

Key Requirements:

Essential:

  • Minimum 5 years in total experience
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in relevant coding languages (C/C++)
  • Great working knowledge of Embedded systems
  • Proficiency in unit test creation and test driven development
  • Proficiency in modelling tools eg IBM Rhapsody, Matlab Simulink, Enterprise Architect etc. (only for Model development engineer role)
  • Proficiency in Autosar Toolchains. (Only AutoSar Development engineer role)
  • Demonstrate flexibility and manage ambiguity during product evolution/change
  • Demonstrate strong Interpersonal skills, including proactive deadline management and pointed stakeholder communications
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Client facing role and work with teams

Desirable:

  • Experience in Automotive Engineering Delivery and in solving complex technical issues using a structured approach
  • Experience in working with large teams delivering verification and validation platform and services
