Description
Position: Lead Software Engineer
Client: PSR/Department of Work & Pensions
Location: Remote initially then Manchester, Blackpool, or Leeds
Pay rate: £750 per day - Inside IR35
Duration: 6 months
Knowledge and Experience required:
- Leading software and test engineers across Common Platforms
- Putting in place a culture of technical innovation
- Improving engineering practices, tools and frameworks not just within Common Platforms, but across Children's Digital
- Engineering resource workload planning and prioritisation
- Accelerating the move towards containers and GitLab SaaS.
- Previous experience of leading one or more engineering teams is essential
- Previous experience of working for a government dept is desirable.
Technical Skills required
- Extensive software development experience especially using NodeJS
- Java experience
- Microservices, Containers and Kubernetes experience.
- Kafka experience. More developing services on Kafka platforms
- Extensive experience of building microservices and event-based applications
- Software frameworks
- Stack - MongoDB
- Cloud certified (Desirable)
- Lead development experience - developing and building development teams
