DevOps Engineer - AWS

Location: Mainly Working from Home with occasional travel to customer sites in the London area.

Initial contract 6 months (Highly likely to extend beyond this)

Opportunity not to be missed Jumar Solutions are delivering an AWS DevOps service into a Secure Government customer. This will be delivering services in a multi-supplier environment, on a large cloud migration programme of work.

The main responsibilities within the role:
  • Writing scripts to deliver/work with our platforms, such as developing docker/terraform/ansible files for a variety of systems/frameworks
  • Advising developers on how they should use existing systems and configure CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensuring working to our appropriate standards, ensuring high service quality other day to day activities
  • Working on design and development of release pipeline
  • Responsible for code reviews in attempt to minimise errors.
  • Participating in agile scrum events: sprint stand-ups, planning, showcases and retrospective meetings
Experience you need to have:
  • Experience gained from a similar DevOps Engineering role, working on a live and complex cloud-based production environment (AWS) (Min 3 Years)
  • Excellent CI/CD experience with Jenkins/AWS Code pipeline
  • Experienced in managing the cloud infrastructure as code, using Terraform.
  • Experience with Containerization tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS
  • Maintaining highly available and performant environments.
  • Familiarity and experience with Agile/SCRUM based development methodology
  • Excellent automated builds and deployments experience.

Due to the secure nature of the work that would be undertaken, there is a preference for an Active SC Clearance to be in place. There is the opportunity to sponsor successful candidates through SC Clearance. To be eligible you must have right to work in the UK and have resided here for a minimum of 5 years, you will be unable to start on the project until the clearance has been granted. If your current cotract is due to complete in November this is a great time to start the process with this opportunity.
