This role is within the Global Trading Solutions (GTS) organisation, supporting a global business based out of Switzerland. It is a rare opportunity for a skilled and motivated Python full stack developer to work in a fast paced environment for a leading international bank. Work amongst highly experienced team members on a wide variety of technologies and gain experience in global financial trading systems.We are looking for engineers with a passion for software and technology, who are keen to develop and maintain complex software applications.
Key tasks include:
• Delivery of modern and web-based enterprise Python applications to enhance the bank’s overall IT landscape
• Collaboration with international business and technology teams to ensure end-to-end integration with existing applications
• Full SDLC ownership of backend and frontend components
• Setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
• Implement functional requirements, troubleshoot production issues and handle bug-fixes
• Writing and maintaining of user and technical documentation
Essential:
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant job experience
• Proactive team-player with a strong sense of ownership
• Excellent execution skills while managing challenging deadlines
• Hands-on experience in Python3 (OOP), Flask (MVC), GIT, Public Key Infrastructure, Web Services (SOAP, REST)
• Strong web development experience using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6
• Solid understanding of Software Design Principles, Patterns & Strategies
• Good understanding of relational databases in general and SQL Server in particular
• Comfortable with agile methodologies and tools, such as Jira & Confluence
Desirable:
• Experience with Linux based systems and shell scripting
• Experience with build tools such as Docker, Jenkins and NPM
• Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Selenium test automation
