We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who require a DevOps Engineer for one of their Public sector Clients based in Southend. This role will currently be remote.
- Candidates must hold active SC clearance/Candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance
- Location-Southend - WFH currently
- IR35 - This role is inside of IR35
- Must have Skills - Jenkins, python programming with (django or flask), ansible, terraform

Job Description:
- Seeking a candidate with Python and web developer with DevOps experience; Candidate Must be from a development background with strong Object Oriental Programme (OPS) skills and who must have worked in python with frameworks like Flask/Django/FastAPI.
- Jenkins (scripted and declarative pipelines) - Candidate must have a very strong day-day user knowledge of Jenkins and a day to day experience of writing pipelines in Jenkins files. Candidate is required to work Client Side within the existing Architect and Environment Team, that has a mixture of Capgemini, Contractors, SREs and HMRC resources.
- Note: Day to day experience of using the mandatory tools is very vital. We are not interested in a candidate who can just do a generic button clicking tasks/experience without knowing how to write, configure or reconfiguration hence candidate with a programming background is required for this role.
- This role requires a professional who is well experienced and knowledgeable in cloud technology especially AWS and python. They must be innovative, competent and comfortable in challenging status quo.
Key Skills required:
- The suitable candidate must be highly proficient in the use of:
- Jenkins (scripted and declarative pipelines)
- Python(2 and 3)
- Python frameworks (Flask/Django)
- Terraform (0.11 and 0.12)
- AWS (Most of AWS including ECS,EKS)
- Kubernetes
- Ansible (2.2 and 2.8)
- Linux tools
- Artifactory
- Swarm
- Docker
- Harshicorp vault
- Groovy (for jenkinsfiles)
- Custom ansible frameworks
- Must have Programming experience (not just Scripting), in addition to skills using above technologies.
- Object Oriented programming, DDD, TDD, EDA and any extra skills would be nice.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; Expectation setting, client relations, Proactive, Problem Solving and creativity skills; Honesty and integrity.
- Knowledge of HMRC business.
