Description

The Ministry of Defence are seeking a Lead Developer to join their team in the West Midlands.

Team: Ministry of Defence|MOD Core|DES|Chief of Materiel Fleet

Initial contracts will run for 6 months and offer a rate up to £750/day.

IR35 STATUS: Inside IR35. This engagement has been assessed by the public body as Inside IR35 legislation. Candidates would be required to operate through an umbrella company on this engagement.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: at 12:00

This role requires Active SC (Security Check) clearance. Applicants require active SC clearance or the willingness to go through clearance before starting on site. Candidates with current clearance will be preferred.

The Role

Responsible for the development of the migration strategy crucial in the movement of the Client's existing working dataset into the new SharePoint 2019 environment using the appropriate migration tooling (Metalogix, PowerShell, etc.).

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Significant expert experience (minimum 3-5 years) implementing and supporting PowerShell, PowerShell Cmdlets, Functions and Modules, JavaScript, CSS, HTML and HTML 5 scripts on non-Internet-connected secure systems in a UK Defence setting.
  • Experience of administrating SharePoint 2019.
  • Experience of migrating SharePoint using tools such as Metalogix Content Matrix by Quest.
  • Experience of implementing and supporting IT solutions based on SharePoint 2010, 2013 or 2016.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Able to produce a high standard of technical and instructional documentation, such as High and Low-Level Designs, implementation plans and support documentation.

  • The ability to lead a team. Candidates must display leadership experience.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of the use of Desired State Configuration (DSC) to define and control the infrastructure and environment of the Client's SharePoint 2019 farms.
  • Knowledge or experience of using code repository such as Git.
  • Experience of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience of working in an ITIL environment.
  • Flexible, team player, get-it-done personality.
  • Ability to organise and plan work independently.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities.

Candidate Eligibility

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK, this role will not offer Visa sponsorship. Tier 2 - General visas are cannot be accepted. This role requires that candidates be willing to undergo BPSS (DS) Baseline Personnel Security Standard (with a Disclosure Scotland).
