Client Overview:
Our client is a global financial services firm and a market leader in investment banking, securities, investment management and wealth management services.
Throughout your contingent/contract assignment, you will be exposed to a truly international and multi-cultural environment that appreciates and respects individuality.
Role Overview:
You will work as part on a small team which make up part of a larger global team of Developers where you will be involved in the replacement of a Legacy system; moving data to Hadoop using Spark and Scala.
Primary Responsibilities/Skills required:
- Working experience in Java application development
- Should have good communication skills, problem solving skills and business analysis skills
- Strong proficiency in Core JAVA/J2EE and understanding OOP
- Good knowledge on common Java frameworks and technologies, including Spring Framework, Hibernate/JPA
- Experience on web services, including knowledge of REST/XML/JSON
- Strong data analytical skills (SQL)
- Experience in Spark and Scala is highly preferred
- Web UI experience using HTML5, JavaScript or AngularJS is a plus
- Experience in SDLC process (eg, Waterfall) and Agile Methodology (Scrum)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional approach
- Familiar with Eclipse IDE- Familiar with Linux/Unix environment, including working with Shell, ssh and/or other command line tools
- Experience working in medium to large-scale development projects
