This is a cracking role if you want to develop software making a real difference to peoples' lives. The software you're developing is large-scale, high-availability web applications.
You won't be working under the pressures that come hand-in-hand with an online betting or financial services firm, for instance, but you'll still be part of a forward-thinking environment which continually invests in technology.
We're looking to tap into your Core Java engineering skills. You'll be working on under-the-bonnet development of platforms which underpin lots of other applications. So, you'll have the desire to work on complex and difficult solutions.
There's lots of new stuff being written in AWS, Node.js, non relational databases and Front End JavaScript with React. You don't need to know all - or any - of these; what's important for your new Manager is your understanding of theory and ability to learn!
It's a really interactive culture, with bi-weekly coffee meetings, lots of daily chat on Teams and people in and out the office. When you are in it's a modern and spacious office with lots of facilities, handily located in the centre of Sheffield.
You'll be working within an Agile environment in a team of 5, part of a wider Development department.
It's a flexible working culture with plenty of out-of-work socials and activities. You'll be up for promotion/pay increments every year.
Salary is £35-45k depending on experience plus benefits.
