Role: Azure API Integration Lead
Location: Crawley, UK
Duration: 6 months
Overview:
- The successful candidate will perform detailed analysis and design, technical documentation, construction and implementation, unit and integration testing, and transition and deployment of software components and systems on complex projects. You will also coordinate coding and testing activities and evaluate and verify various alternatives before making technical recommendations and resolving technical issues. In addition, you will coordinate various software development tasks with Development, Deployment, and Quality Assurance.
Key Essential Skills:
- Hands on experience of designing and delivering distributed cloud native solutions using Microsoft Azure
- Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment.
- Very strong, in-depth, and demonstrable hands-on experience with the large numbers of the following technologies:
- Microsoft Azure PaaS and SaaS solution development technologies including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, .NET, JavaScript, Python, Azure SQL etc.
- Microsoft Azure App Service Environment, Microsoft Azure API Management platform technologies
- JSON, REST and data-based APIs and high scale performant service facades
- Microsoft Azure Identity Management and Security technologies including custom SAML 2.0 providers
- Microsoft Azure DevOps or GitHub
- Azure Service Bus and Azure Notifications Hub
- Microsoft Monitoring tools
- Experience using container platforms and tools Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Service
- Identity Management Azure AD, Azure AD B2C, Open ID Connect
- Cloud monitoring Experience with Azure Log Analytics Azure Monitor Application Insights
- Previous experience working in similar role for at least 2 projects.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of working in highly dynamic teams using agile methodologies often under demanding timescales.
- Familiarity with any of the following would be distinct advantage: Azure Data Analytics platform including Azure Storage, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Search, Azure Databricks and Open-Source technologies such Apache Spark, Hadoop, NoSQL, Kafka etc

- Experience working in a Dev/Ops environment.
- Experience of working in highly dynamic teams using agile methodologies often under demanding timescales.
- Experience of motivating and managing team performance in delivering to agreed timelines
- Familiarity with Cosmos DB, Cassandra, Mongo DB or similar technologies would additionally be very useful
Role & Responsibilities:
- Designing and delivering Azure API and associated data platform solutions
- Software prototyping and construction - Design, Build, and Modify existing business-tier components, Web applications, and database objects using Microsoft platform technologies (ASP.NET Web API) and Azure
- Designing and integrating Azure platforms in a manner which allows the management and provision of data in a secure and reliable manner
- Delivering and presenting Proofs of Concept variants to prospective customers.
- Define the API architecture for high availability, low latency, and resilience
- Design RESTful APIs with relational and Non-relational Databases such as Cosmos DB
- Use Azure API Management as an API Gateway to perform routing throttling rate-limiting versioning and scaling of the APIs and microservices.
- Requirements Analysis and Solution Architecture Design.
- Working with Big Data developers to ensure high quality access to and supply of specified data.
- Ensuring that platforms and data solutions can be deployed and operated in a highly repeatable and predictable manner through interaction and collaboration with DevOps specialists.
- Analysis of requirements and production of specifications.
- Documentation of solutions (eg data models, configurations, and setup).
- Working within a project management/agile delivery methodology in a leading role as part of a wider team.
- Deal with other stakeholders/end users in the software development life cycle - PMs, BAs, testing etc
- Analysis and Design - Transforms high-level design into low-level design, and implementation.
- Good understanding and experience following test-driven development and continuous integration practices
