Azure Postgres Developer - Inside IR35 - 6 months rolling - London
Our client is urgently seeking an experienced Azure Postgres expert to work on a 6 months rolling contract in London that will be remote initially, based on the specification below:
Working on the regulatory disclosures database supporting the authoring & publishing workflow. It consists of an Oracle database Back End containing ~20GB data and complex business logic in database procedures. It contains a Spring-based Java mid-tier and JSP Front End. The plan is to:
- Migrate the on-prem Oracle database to Azure-based Postgres
- Introduce a Redis cache on Azure
- Migrate the remaining application components to Azure
- Consider microservices-based re-architecture
We require an expert Postgres developer with hands-on experience with Azure Postgres in particular, to help with the first point
The bank team have already completed the initial steps but require support and guidance to help them complete a successful production deployment. This assistance could include:
- Review of the proposed code and data migration process for the Oracle database and make code fixes as required
- Postgres database configuration and tuning
- Help plan the production deployment activity
- Application architecture review on the production Azure environment
- Review dev build and deployment processes for the database
