Description
My client is looking for a Data Engineer/ETL Developer to join their BI team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL platforms and participate actively in critical data projects within a cross functional agile product team.
As the successful candidate, you will have a genuine interest on data and an extensive experience on data integration tools such as IBM Datastage alongside with reports/dashboard development using Business Objects and/or Tableau.
You will also be part of a team responsible for the maintenance of its ETL processes, you'll need to be able to take over some administration tasks and have experience in maintenance of Datastage ETL processes.
You will be actively involved in developments of reports/dashboards using BI tools like Business Objects and Tableau.
The candidate will split their time between the BI team and API Applications & Integration Service team.
* Strong experience in IBM Datastage 11.5 and higher.
* Basic Level Experience in UNIX and Shell Scripts.
* Experience in SQL writing in Oracle 12c and higher and Database concept
* Any one of the reporting tools is essential -
a) Business Objects Suites (WebI, universe tools, Lumira) v4.2 and higher
b) Tableau dashboard 2020 and higher
Essential
* Expert knowledge and skill in IBM Datastage (Information Server 11.5)
* Strong experience in one of reporting tools
a) Business Objects Suites 4.2 and higher (WebI, Universe, Lumira)
b) Tableau Desktop/Server 2020 and higher
* Good knowledge of IBM Datastage Administration
* Experience in the maintenance and support of Datastage processes
* Good knowledge of Data Warehousing principles
* Good SQL skills
* Knowledge of Linux/Unix and experience creating bash or Powershell scripts
* An excellent understanding of Management Information/Business Intelligence/Analytics.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, sharing knowledge and skills and developing productive working relationships.
* Experience in Agile methodology and JIRA
Desirable:
* Knowledge of Cloud data platform
* Tableau Server installation/upgrades
* Business Object platform upgrades
* SAP Business Objects Explorer
* Exposure using ticketing system like RemedyForce.
* Good understanding with ITIL change management, Release management and Incident management.
* Good to have configuration management tool like Gitab, Artefacts.
* PowerBI Dashboard
This is a hybrid role and will require 40% working in the office (up to 2 days per week) based in central London
This is an inside IR35 role.
