We are expanding our Professional Services team with additional AWS Solution Architects.
The Team
Currently, the Professional Services (PS) team consists of 30+ Engineers and Architects, spread across multiple international teams. PS is the team that handles customer project work in HeleCloud. We architect and develop solutions for customers utilising AWS public cloud. Your Direct Manager is a technical person, and you both might end up working on a customer project together.
The Work
Organisations who are looking to adopt the public cloud, partner with HeleCloud to architect and develop a public cloud platform in AWS. The Solution Architects lead customers through their cloud journey focusing on security and compliance, cost efficiency, resiliency and high performance.
As part of your job, you will:
Architect solutions ensure that they are designed and implemented in a way that solves our customers’ problem
Lead the conversations with key project stakeholders (Project Managers, Architects, C-level management, etc.) in translating business requirements to assist in the implementation of technical solutions
Always have the customer interest in mind, and think about long-term customer relationships
Lead the project and the team of engineers that are part of the project
Participate in hiring, coaching, and professional development of other team members, acting as a buddy or throughout the project execution
Participate in internal activities addressing challenges within HeleCloud
Travelling internationally might be required around 10% of the project time.

You
You would have experience designing and delivering solutions with mid-level to enterprise environments either in the cloud or in a traditional data centre. Customer-specific challenges will differ from one project to the next and you should be passionate about resolving them in a manner that addresses the customer needs. You are eager to learn and keep up to date with modern-day technologies.
The skills below will make you successful at this job, but we DO NOT expect to find all of them in every candidate. Except for English – we expect that from everyone!
For the Solution Architect role, we would expect you to have:
AWS SA Professional level knowledge
Strong customer focus and good business acumen
Networking and Internetworking: LAN, WAN routing & switching basics, VPN
Good understanding of Virtualization and Containerization technologies
Server Operating Systems: Proficient in deploying and managing Linux or/and Windows systems
Scripting – any of the following: Python, Ruby, GoLang, Bash and PowerShell
Knowledge in one or more of the following will make your application stand out:
Databases – Oracle Databases and Middleware, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Data Warehousing, MongoDB
Configuration Management tools – Chef, Puppet, Ansible, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Version Control Systems and CI/CD tools – Github, BitBucket, GitLab, Jenkins, Bamboo, TeamCity, CircleCI
Identity Providers and Single Sign One tools – Active Directory (AD), AD Federation Service, OKTA and Azure SSO
Infrastructure as a code (IaC) experience – CloudFormation and/or Terraform
Industry certifications are an advantage – for example MCSE, CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified SA/Developer Associate/Professional, CISSP or CISA/CISM certification
Security & Compliance Engineering and Governance Skills – one or more of the following: security management and control frameworks, ISO 27001, PCI/DSS, SOC1/2/3, Personal Data Protection in Europe, Firewalls, IPSec, Penetration Testing, DDoS Protection, Application vulnerability assessment and protection, anti-virus/anti-spam, Identity and Access Management, Cryptography
