SharePoint Administrator (SC Cleared or Eligible)

Our client, a global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced SharePoint Administrator (SC Cleared or Eligible) to join their team in their clients' office in Warrington or Barnwood. You may be able to work remotely until Covid abates.

This is a 6 month temporary contract (with possibility to extend), to start on 01st of December. You should be ready to work in shift and out of hours (based on project requirement) and should be ready for on-call (ROTA Basis).

The right candidate must have SC Clearance or be eligible for SC clearance (need to have been a UK resident for a minimum of 5 years)

The purpose of the role is to provide end to end support in migrating SharePoint On Prem environment to SharePoint Online.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate SharePoint On Prem environment to SharePoint Online
  • Work with other infrastructure and application teams and to undertake analysis, diagnosis and resolution of critical, high priority and escalated issues
  • Independently execute migration activities
  • Work with the Platforms Product Owner and stakeholders to plan and deliver the migration of sites from on-premise to SharePoint Online
  • Implement best practice for site hierarchy and permissions configuration as part of the migration
  • Work closely with colleagues in Information Management and Information Access to implement a SharePoint governance plan that enables frictionless and secure collaboration for users
  • Install and configure server patches and cumulative updates across on-premise SharePoint environments
  • Work with colleagues in Learning and Development to deliver site owner/new user and refresher training for SharePoint Online
  • Provide 3rd line SharePoint support
  • Work with 3rd party SAAS providers to trial and deploy migration and backup tool

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years' relevant experience
  • Hands on experience in migrating SharePoint On Prem environment to SharePoint Online
  • To be able to handle SharePoint L3 Admin activities independently
  • Hands on experience in SharePoint custom coding ie event handlers/features/content types/timer jobs/web parts, REST web services, J Query, JSON, Html, CSS and Power Shell
  • Experience in working on Sites and Site Collections, Site Definitions and Site Template, List Template for different departments and Site Columns and Content types using Visual Studio
  • Should be experienced in implementation and support of Web Front End, Database, application and search server's administration
  • Experience in SharePoint hosted App, Provider Hosted app
  • Develop custom lists, sites, and document libraries, understanding of taxonomy and SharePoint branding customisation
  • Support and develop SharePoint workflows used in various business processes
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, test plans and implementation plans
  • Site and Page level customisation using SharePoint CSOM (Client Side)/SSOM (Server Side Object Model)/ECMA Scripts
  • Experience in Visual Web Parts, Application Pages and ASP.NET Web Parts using Visual Studio
  • Knowledge of third-party migration and workflow tools

  • With Client -Establish and maintain excellent relationship with customer stakeholders and develop processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness for the client as an on-going basis
  • With Line Manager/Senior Stakeholders -Maintain regular contact with Line Manager/Senior Stakeholders to update and appraise them on critical business issues and data points
  • With Offshore Teams -Maintain regular contact with required Offshore teams as and when required to update them on current issues and decisions, seek support for issues that affect the success of the contracts on-going deliverables as and when required
  • With Peers -Develop and maintain positive relationships with other business partners, both internal and external, ensuring best practice advice is shared and maximum efficiency achieved
  • With Others -Effectively and professionally, communicate regularly with all functional teams and other parts of the company as required in the proper performance of such duties by regularly sharing information and building positive relationships to help achieve business goals and objectives within the account. Build positive relationships with external contacts to maximise efficiency and to represent the business in a professional manner at all times
