Data Scientist - Sales Forecasting
A data scientist with sales forecasting experience, is required for an initial 3 month contract, with likely extensions. The immediate focus will be to test a forecast theory through a proof of concept, making changes and improvements as needed. Previous retail, consumer goods or sales forecasting experience is vital for this role.
Key accountabilities:
- Collating and cleaning data from various entities
- Selecting and employing advanced statistical procedures to obtain actionable insights
- Cross-validating models to ensure their generalizability
- Producing and disseminating non-technical reports that detail the successes and limitations of each project
- Suggesting ways in which insights obtained might be used to inform business strategies
Key skills & experience:
- Experience of sales forecasting for consumer goods
- Experience of applied data science
- Use of scientific python libraries for data manipulation and modelling: numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, matplotlib, etc.
- Using Kubernetes, docker, Jenkins and Git in an Azure environment.
