Shopify Support Specialist

INSIDE IR35 - Remote or Hybrid working available

Our client, a global media organization is undergoing a migration from a Legacy platform to Shopify and is looking for a Shopify Support specialist to join on an initial 12-month contract to be frontline user support for our eCommerce store operations team and other users. The Shopify Support candidate will be responsible for answering store operator questions around how to use the Shopify platform and/or how to resolve issues on live stores.

  • Ability to multi-task, problem solve, and execute tasks with accuracy in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Customer-first mentality with ability to empathize and create customer loyalty
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience levels
  • Capable of effectively working and communicating with non-technical internal store operations teams
  • Proven ability to understand business requirements and issues and define pragmatic technical solutions to achieve outcome
  • Proficient in writing, editing, and presenting operational processes for our eCommerce ecosystem to non-technical users
  • Working knowledge of modern design patterns and development languages including PHP, Symphony, JavaScript, HTML, CSS (or similar)
  • Working knowledge of Shopify (or similar) Front End design standards and data structures
  • Capable of learning new technologies and platforms quickly and able to apply them to solve complex problems
  • Demonstrable understanding of basic Internet concepts such as: domain registration, DNS, DMZ, Router, Firewall, Ports, Load Balancing, DNS (or similar)
  • Proven track record operating large scale, E-commerce based operations
  • Experience with user training and documentation a must
  • Experience with Shopify 2.0 (or similar) preferred
  • Experience working with the following technologies: Javascript (Prototype and JQuery), CSS2, CSS3, HTML5 (or similar)
  • Experience with management of online payment gateways (eg, Braintree, PayPal, Worldpay)
  • Experience with Product Information Management Systems, Order Management Systems and Warehouse Management a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of PCI compliance and other E-commerce industry topics a plus
