Description

Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an Automated Test Developer for an initial 3 month contract with the potential to extend on a rate of £425/day (outside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will be remote based for the foreseeable future.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure adoption and development of automated testing within an Agile project.

- Automated test code base will be expanded to cover all major areas of the website and monitor health of the website.

- Automated tests will be triggered to run on a defined schedule (several times a day) using Azure DevOps pipeline.

- Work with development team to embed test development as part of standard development cycle to ensure new features are covered with one or more automated tests.

- Help demonstrate value of automated testing to audiences beyond immediate project team.

- Demonstration of automated tests in action and the constituent elements will be delivered to relevant stakeholders

- Assist in driving improvement in the team with regards to writing quality test cases and their practical implementation using technologies mentioned in key skills section.

- Review of current feature/scenario writing approach and tools. Improvements and/or alternatives to be suggested, as required.

- Current automated test code will be reviewed and optimised. Ensuring minimum of 80% test pass rate.

- Review of pipeline used for running tests and improvements suggested where required.

- Review test run result notifications ensure key stakeholders are identified

- Define relevant evidence capture and retention policy.

- Code changes as required

- Coach colleagues in skills required to maintain and enhance practices Embedded as part of engagement.

- Colleagues current skill levels will be informally assessed and the successful candidate will coach and mentor colleagues to help them improve, where required.

Essential Skills:

- C#

- Selenium with Specflow

- Mentoring/coaching

- An essential part of the project is the skills transfer to the internal development team so your ability to communicate effectively is key.

Desirable Skills:

- Azure DevOps pipeline creation

- Experience working in Agile projects
