Job Description
Own the end-to-end high-level solution design for a project, Programme or initiative, and translate requirements into a series of transition state designs and an executable roadmap.
The solution design(s) will endeavour to qualify the strategy and direction outlined in the group level architectural blueprints, DTR (domain technology roadmaps) and business designs resulting in clearly articulated solution design increments/iterations delivered and implemented in a phased manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver cost-effective designs for the business and align the solution with the corresponding business or IT architecture
- Work closely with the sponsors, key stakeholders, the business and change and functional delivery teams of the project or initiative to ensure design compliance and successful delivery
- Work with stakeholders to identify investment priorities, define opportunities and shape journeys to meet the strategic goals of an initiative, businesses, and the organization
- Ability to support ALL Programme initiative at all levels top-down and bottom-up
Skills, knowledge and experience needed for Role
- Experience with data warehouse/ETL/big data/NoSQL architectures and design patterns
- Experience of data ingest methods, including streaming with Real Time ingestion
- Experience of conceptual, logical and physical Datamodelling in RDBMS, and conceptual, operational modelling in Document Stores
- Experience of API enablement with microservice provisioning supporting enterprise data service roll out and adoption
- Appreciation of security, authentication and authorization frameworks supporting enterprise data services
- Consult, Advise and Support platforms in all aspects of the solution adoption process
- Promote the adoption of new processes, WoW's, technologies in the E2E process
- Ability to understand complex data requirements and challenge assumptions
- Self-motivated willing to drive the work forward on their own initiative
- Strong collaboration skills and an effective team player
- Capable of working within a changing environment where work priorities and specific requirements can be subject to change at short notice
- Knowledge of the Project Lifecycle (eg P3M) Design Governance processes.
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Experience of using industry standard models and tools
- Agile ways of working, JIRA, Lean Kit, confluence
- Ability to understand and articulate roles and responsibilities, and where appropriate support other teams and resources when requested
- Ability to identify, define and close process, tech, programme, etc gaps which may present themselves during the design endeavor
