Description

Principal/Lead Data Engineer/Architect needed with experience of working on large enterprise data lake projects, with strong AWS, Python and Analytics experience. The ideal candidate will have a background as a Data Engineer with previous experience of software/application development with the ability to provide architectural overview of solutions and designs. The role requires someone who can be hands-on (20-30%) but will focus more on oversight, reviews, ensuring best practice, provide assurance on approach and conducting Market Tool analysis (eg Google Analytics vs Adobe Analytics vs MixPanel). Strong coding skills in Python and an application development language like C# or Java is required and you should have experience of leading data teams and providing architectural overviews. In summary this is a role for someone with Data Lakes, AWS, Graph Databases, Analytics and application development with both C#/Java and Python.

This role will act as a Domain Lead across at least 2 delivery streams: A Data Foundation team responsible for the core data lake platform, data discovery, quality and analytics. A Data Products team that makes data available to customers through microservices and web apps.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Knowledge of Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, Data governance practices. ETL, batch vs Real Time feeds and applying data quality rules. Python and C# or Java with experience of Solutions Architecture. Knowledge of Graph databases, ideally Neo4J. Expert skills in validating complex requirements and making technical decisions. Hands on experience of AWS Cloud infrastructure and services supporting data feeds and lakes. Exposure to one or more of XP, Scrum, Lean, DevSecOps CALMS/Rugged cultures.

Rate: circa £630 per day inside IR35, 6 months likely to become rolling, Work From Home/occasional visits to office in Richmond.
