Lead User Researcher - Qualitative/UX/Mobile sought by leading retail bank based in London.

*Inside IR35 - Umbrella Only/2 days a week in the office*

About the role:

We're looking for a talented, experienced design/UX researcher to lead the research strategy and planning within Retail. We're looking for someone to deliver robust, high quality, collaborative research that helps unlock the opportunities for customers and the business. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary design team that identifies and solves real customer problems.

You'll make a difference when you:

  • Think strategically about the key questions and risks in product and service development - and how research can solve this
  • Identify ways to join up research and join up our customer experience across the Group
  • Share knowledge and improve design research methods as an active member of the Design community
  • Collaborate with and influence your multi-disciplinary design and product teams to grow a culture of design research and design thinking.

What we need from you

  • Strong experience conducting a broad range of qualitative research techniques
  • Hands on experience designing and analysis surveys
  • Strong experience creating research plans to address key questions for product development and design teams
  • Understand when to use qualitative and quantitative research
  • A collaborative mindset to work closely and quickly with a multi-disciplinary team.

What you can bring to the role

Essential:

  • Create research plans by collaborating with your team to unlock the key research questions and drawing on your deep experience of research to decide the best methods to answer these questions
  • Deliver high quality research for complex projects, that engages designers and product owners
  • Build trusted relationships with key partners and influence effectively from strategy through to delivery
  • Influence product development decisions to be based on customer-evidence!
  • Support the research strategy for the bank identifying ways to improve our ways of working
  • Coach designers and product owners to value design research and drive forward a culture of design thinking
  • Possess a growth mentality and be keen to adopt new ways of thinking to enhance how we do research
  • Experience mentoring or coaching people.

Desirable:

  • Deep experience of quantitative research
  • Experience overseeing agencies to deliver research.
