DBA
Duration: 3-Months (extneded to 6 month with sucsess)
Location: 100% remote
Responsibilities:
Sentinel are working with highly ethical company that are empowering the underprivileged in underdeveloped parts of the world by giving them the opportunity to have access to Mobile Phone (Internet), Solar Power, E-mobility scooters which they would never typically have access too.
We are looking for a DBA to keep improving the efficiency and security of production Azure SQL and Synapse Databases (the client is interested in your opinions on other dbs, particularly in cloud warehousing). You will work alongside a modern analytics engineering and data platforming team to build and maintain a modern data stack based around Synapse that enables the whole business to work with data. You will also work with our Back End engineers to help them optimise our production dbs, with Microsoft Engineers on best practice recommendations and with support from our dedicated infrastructure team on optimising our time to recovery, back up strategy, performance and throughout.
Skills & Experience:
You will have a minimum of 4 years experience as a DBA, be confident with git and automated deploy pipelines.
Prefer experience in:
Cloud/Azure
MSFT T-SQL
SSIS packages (to help us lift and shift away from)
Azure best practices, from RBAC to IAC.
