Senior Java Developer
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join JP Morgan in London on an initial 4 months contract to help assist in working on the "Digital UI Platform" which is a new, integrated platform providing common UI Toolkits, common application services and delivery channels (web, mobile and desktop) for all applications across the Investment Bank. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of web architectures and technologies.
As a Senior Java Developer you should be able to assist with building a script utilizing an API from Jira to proprietary software:
- Review and confirm field mappings
- Manage stakeholders
- Document strategy for team adoption of API
- Review with stakeholders and obtain approval
- Manage the rollout of the script to various teams across the Digital Platform
- Train JPMC employees on maintenance of script
This role combines a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including
- Thorough understanding and experience working with Java 8
- Experience of Python is highly desirable
- Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Working proficiency in developmental tool sets
- Knowledge of industry wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
- Strong foundation in Object Oriented Programming and Design Principles (OOP/OOD)
- Use object-oriented techniques and software engineering best practices including design review, code review, unit-testing, and re-factoring
- Understanding and implementation of test-driven development
- Solid understanding of development using SCRUM and Agile practices
