Description
We are currently building our next generation centralised data platform to enable consistent access mechanisms and processing patterns on its geospatial data, in order to create new data products for customers.
We are looking for a Data Engineer who will use big data technologies within the Azure Cloud (primarily Databricks, an implementation of Apache Spark) to develop, support, and maintain automated processes that enrich and transform our large-scale geopspatial data.
Experience:
As the Data Engineer you will have experience in the following:
- Working with complex Geospatial data and a logical approach to problem solving.
- Knowledge of data structures and experience querying databases.
- Software engineering - one or more language (such as Scala or Python)
- Track record in developing and delivering production ready components.
- Good knowledge of testing approaches and best practice
- Providing technical coaching and mentoring
- Advocating software engineering industry best practice
- Interpreting detailed specifications and translating into simple solutions
- Apache Spark/Databricks experience (desirable)
- Experience of working in Microsoft Azure (desirable)
