A Teaching Hospital trust in Bradford is on the lookout for a Database manager who will be acting as the main point of contact for researchers across the trust to clarify project database requirements and provide management with some the following: data extraction, validation, development of data cleaning rules, data linkage and troubleshooting
Primary duties and areas of Responsibility:
- To liaise with researchers, researchers from partner institutions and other staff of various levels of seniority, from a variety of technical and non-technical backgrounds, to gather requirements for databases, database objects and processes to support research projects
- To develop and administer automated ETL and file manipulation processes, which will involve working remotely with file Servers and database Servers.
- To design and build databases and database objects to support research projects, to strict deadlines.
- Code queries and reports using T-SQL and SQL Server Reporting Services, troubleshoot and amend SQL Server databases established within internal and external research groups.
- Maintain a robust process for production of data extracts from a wide range of systems and databases, to support research projects
What are they looking for?
- Experience of database and data warehouse design and development.
- Experience of managing relational databases for multiple users in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
- Experience developing for database-driven software applications in a commercial environment including design, programming and testing
- Experience of data quality/data integrity monitoring and improvement
- Experience using one or more database procedural language, including Transact-SQL
