- Database Developer (SQL) - Insurance Sector Exp Essential
- London - Hybrid (working onsite 2/3days per week)
- 6 month contract
- Inside of IR35 - Will need to go through an Umbrella Solution
My client, an Insurance Giant within the Lloyds Syndicate, is looking for a Database developer to join their team. My client had created an in house Claims Payment System and is looking for a Developer with extensive Payment System exp to join them.
Due to the project, experience within the Insurance Sector, especially within the Lloyds Syndicate is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Development of a Finance system key to the payment of Underwriting and Claims payments
- Assist with solution design and in the preparation of system test plans.
- Work with business and technical staff to resolve problems and respond to suggestions for improvements or
- enhancements.
- Ensure products have been produced according to company procedures and standards.
- Be responsible for testing, release (via change control processes), documentation (both technical and end user
- focused) and maintenance of the developed product.
- Liaise with DevOps/Systems teams to ensure successful design, development and deployment of products to
- production environments.
- Maintain close, good working relationships with colleagues and customers of the department.
- Operational support of existing applications with the portfolio.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience of Business Analysis
- Advanced knowledge of SQL Server T-SQL.
- Knowledge of SQL SSIS, SSAS and SSRS.
- Proactive approach to fault finding and issue resolution.
- Ability to communicate well with technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Knowledge of industry technologies and application including new and current architectures, including data
- modelling and overall solution design.
- Produce technical support documentation.
- Experience of working within the full development life cycle ie development, unit testing and release.
- Experience of Change Management in a large organisation.
- Experience of Azure/Version Control Systems.
- Exposure to Microsoft Windows and Web Services ie IIS and Tomcat, CICD pipelines ie Azure DevOps
- and/or Bamboo, Source control (GIT/Azure DevOps).
- Exposure to the Lloyds or London Market Insurance Industry.
- Exposure to banking/payment platforms, eg SWIFT, BACS files.
- Exposure to Acturarial modelling.Exposure of generating XML files.
- Development of automated testing solutions.
