We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy who required a Cloud/Data Engineer Croydon but mainly remote for one of their public sector clients based in the UK.
- IR35: This role is inside of IR35
- Initial duration: 6 months
- Clearance required: SC/SC eligible - urgent role so candidates who are currently cleared will be preferred
- Nationality Requirement: UK passport or 5 years of permanent residence in the UK
Job Description:
Strong T-SQL language skills including:
- DDL (eg CREATE, DROP, ALTER)
- DML (eg SELECT, INSERT INTO, UPDATE, DELETE)
- Joins (eg INNER JOIN, LEFT JOIN, CROSS APPLY)
- Built-in functions (eg CAST, DATEDIFF, CONCAT)
- Conditional logic (eg CASE, COALESCE)
- Aggregate functions (eg COUNT, MAX)
- Window functions (eg OVER PARTITION BY)
- Knowledge of creating T-SQL stored procedures, views, functions and indexes
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft database platforms including SQL Server, Azure SQL DB and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Knowledge of ETL pipelines and different methods of transforming data
- Knowledge of modern data formats eg parquet, json
- Knowledge of Azure storage options eg Data Lake
- Experience with the following tools: SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Azure Storage Explorer, git, Azure DevOps, Synapse Studio, Azure Data Studio
- Able to convert written business rules into SQL code
- Security-cleared/clearable (meaning UK passport or 5 years permanent residence in the UK)
Nice to have:
- Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics/Azure Data Lake Gen 2
- Experience with ETL tools eg SSIS, Azure Data Factory (ADF)
- Experience with Power BI, including DAX
- Python
- Automation skills including PowerShell
- Certification AZ-900: Azure Fundamentals
- Certification DP-900: Azure Data Fundamentals
