We are IT Recruitment Specialists partnered with a prestigious Global Consultancy that requires a Lead Data Engineer for one of their Public Sector Clients based in the UK.

IR35 - This role is Outside of IR35

*Must be active SC cleared/SC eligible*

Job Title: Lead Data Engineer

Contract Length: 3 months rolling contract to 12 months

Location: Manchester, Telford, Southend, or London - one of those 4 locations - WFH 3 days a week, possibly a maximum of 2 days in the office.

What will you do?

We are looking for enthusiastic Data Engineers with 3-10 years of expertise in the Data Engineering space with an eagerness to learn and deliver large complex Digital Transformation programs across the UK & Ireland. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will have worked on Data Integration into Cloud Data Warehouses or Data Lakes, programming, APIs, etc. in an Agile environment.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Recognize and share opportunities to re-use existing data flows between their teams
  • Be responsible for the build of data-streaming systems
  • Coordinate teams and set best practices and standards
  • Apply knowledge of systems integration to their work
  • Champion data engineering across government
  • Identify and analyze user requirements
  • Prioritize, assign and execute tasks throughout the software development life cycle
  • Write well-designed, efficient code
  • Review, test and debug team members' code
  • Ensure our applications are secure and up to date.
  • Leading a team with 5-10 team members and making it a successful sprint/delivery within the SLA.
