Scala Developer - 6-18 Months Contract Dublin.
My client a leading global name in their respected market is in urgent need of a talented and experienced Scala Developer to join them on a contract basis that will be initial 6 months with view to extend up to 18 months. My clients system is being constructed in Scala and Python and there is a strategic drive to migrate their classic applications to the new strategic architecture. My client follows Agile management, Agile, Scrum and Kanban delivery methodologies, with a focus on ATDD/BDD & TDD.
My client is looking for an experienced Scala application developer required to join growing team in a dynamic environment. You will be working within a cross-functional Agile team following Scrum or Kanban, with importance placed upon automation and TDD skills and knowledge. Some full stack development skills an advantage. Complex architecture, tools used include Scala, SBT, BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Sonar, AKKA, RDF, event-sourcing, Angular, others. Successful candidates will work with end users to break down requirements into manageable parts for a sprint (user stories/feature files). Candidates will have a background in modern OO language with experience in Scala. You will also have experience in using design patterns and following best software engineering practices It would be seen as advantageous if you have experience in ATDD (Acceptance Test-Driven Development and BDD ( behaviour-driven development), this Will include an understanding for Test Driven Development practices including continual integration. Ideally you will also have experience of Scrum/Agile methods.
