Contract Java Software Engineer
Location & Duration: Remote - 7 month duration minimum
Rate & Engagement: Inside IR35 - to £610 per day
Investigo have partnered with a well-known retail software house with offices spread across the UK who are looking to engage a skilled consultant who can support their customer. We are looking to engage a 2-3 contract Software Engineers with skills spanning across Java on an initial 7-month contract with a highly likelihood of extension. You'll work with one of their largest customer facing platform for a business with global reach and join a project delivery team working on some exciting innovations within their industry. Experience is key and we are looking for a consultant competent enough to deliver but also push back and improve the way great software is delivered.
So, what are we looking for?
- Strong hands-on skills designing, implementing, and maintaining high performance scalable Java applications - skilled in Java (7+) are essential
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with web frameworks; JSP, JSF, Struts, etc, along with SOAP/REST/Microservices/Web Services experience
- Experience with J2EE tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, Bamboo, Maven, Gradle, GIT, SVN, etc
- Data and database skills, specifically NoSQL databases, XML, DTD, XSD, etc
- Knowledge and experience of Agile frameworks and practices; Scrum/Kanban, BDD/TDD, DevOps, pair programming, etc
Any experience working with Java/Kotlin would be hugely beneficial.
This is an inside IR35 engagement with a day rate on offer of up to £610 per day. Initial contract duration will be 7 months, but an extension is highly likely. This role is an urgent requirement, therefore interviews will take place as soon as possible.
