Business Area Overview:
The Markets Finance IT department, which is part of Finance & Middle Office IT within Markets & Securities Services IT serves the Product Control business function across the organisation. It has a significant presence in all major sites and comprises of over 300 personnel and is responsible for the development and support of several high profile strategic systems and programmes of work. Product Control and more broadly MSS are going through significant transformation with investment supporting the Product Control Transformation Programme, FRTB and numerous Global Markets driven transformation initiatives.
Product Control Transformation: A multiyear transformation across Product Control covering operating model redesign, process automation and strategic technology across all areas of Product Control including P&L & Balance Sheet Control, Accounting, Valuations (eg IPV) and Hedge Accounting
Purpose of role:
Markets Finance IT is seeking a Senior Frontend Java/Angular specialist to help lead a team of engineers to build performant, intuitive, usable & scalable front ends for our Production Control Users
The Specialist will be responsible for the following:
Providing UX advice to Product Owners to help assist in the development of requirements which will provide a rich and valuable experience to our users
Help maintain & build frameworks and common components across the Front End which will help make the teams more efficient and assist in them building a consistent experience across the platform
Mentor and guide more Junior Front End engineers in offshore locations
Ownership of large scale deliverables from inception to production

Essential Skills:
Very experienced Angular developer, with a background working in a wide spectrum of Front End libraries
Experience of various automated testing platforms for UI testing such as Codecept/Puppeteer/Cypress
Must demonstrate ability to assist with CICD process and build automatic testing capabilities to allow delivery at a high cadence
Able to demonstrate experience building a number of rich Internet applications
Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Ideal Candidate requirements:
A track record of working in Financial Institutions is helpful
Computer Science degree, allowing the candidate to demonstrate good fundamental software concepts such as imperative/declarative/functional/OO languages.
