We are heading up a recruitment drive for a global consultancy that require a Oracle DBA to join them on a major project that's based in remotely

Job Title - Oracle DBA
Day Rate - £495
Location - Remote/London
iR35 determination - Inside
Duration - 6 months

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES?& ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Working as part of a dynamic and fast-growing engineering team, the Database Administration will play an important part in our modernisation programme and work on application development projects. The individual will work closely with technical leads, developers and DevSecOps to assist in both logical and physical database design along with database & SQL performance tuning.
  • Be the owner and driver of database schema and architecture for the specific software modules and how they interact with other internal and external enterprise applications.
  • Responsible for the data layer architecture of the platform.
  • Design and maintain the multitenancy and data security mechanism for the platform.
  • Collaborate in the extensibility of the architecture by incorporating modern database architecture principles with a SaaS best practice in mind.
  • Responsible for the security, performance, and scalability of the application from a database architecture and engineering perspective.
  • Take existing DB model/design and remove technical debt by rearchitecting the model with contemporary best practices and design.
  • Support teams with development on NoSQL databases using normalized data.
  • Gather database metrics, perform analytics, and display reports.

Essential Skills

  • Strong interest and hands-on experience in architecting databases and providing support to development teams
  • Knowledge in automation and the CI/CD pipeline, demonstrating proactive engagement to deliver solutions.
  • Proven experience working within agile methodologies while understanding the fundamental principles behind what they are trying to achieve and why they are valued
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity, applying both pragmatism and bold direction when appropriate
  • Sound understanding of the wider technical landscape, open source technologies and modern practices around the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary and remote teams

Desired:

  • STEM Degree preferred (or equivalent)
