The Opportunity:
Our client is currently looking to bring on an experienced Python/Django Developer to assist with the delivery of an enterprise scale, public sector project. You will work within a team comprised of front/Back End developers, testers and consultants to ensure the successful maintenance and enhancement of an existing platform.
Security Clearance - this role requires candidates with current/recent BPSS clearance and/or the ability to pass basic security checks.*
Skills and Experience:
- Proven background in Back End development using technologies such as Python, Django, Django REST framework, PostgreSQL
- Able to use GitHub to deliver projects collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary, self-managing team
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Exposure to modern web application and cloud technologies would be beneficial (AWS, React.js, Vanilla.js)
- Knowledge of Government Digital Services (GDS) or working with public sector bodies would be a real advantage
- Candidate will be a high performing, dynamic individual who naturally enjoys working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary, self-managing team.
Role and Responsibilities:
Consulting a Back End developer, operating as part of a multi-disciplinary self-organising team, using Agile principles and methodologies, you will be inheriting and managing the day-to-day operations for a high profile government digital service.
This will be a rapid transition project, where you will be working with existing developers and technical architects to ensure handover of the live service. You will be required to review the existing technical and architectural documentation, identifying gaps and providing input into an architectural map of the platform.
You will be providing full Back End support in maintaining the live platform and all of its Microservices. Transition, support and management will be handled via Zendesk, which you will be working with your team to ensure that queries are prioritised and responded to within an agreed SLA.
