C# Web Developer - Client and Sales Front Office IT - Investment Banking
Role is for a person who now focuses on/has good experience of Web based applications, and who also has solid C#. The team provides applications to Global Markets Front Office for E-commerce of both Equity Derivatives and Fixed Income products
Skills and Experience
- Solid experience with Server Side C#
- At least 8 years software development experience ideally with a recent focus on delivering web based applications
- Experience designing and implementing RESTful web APIs services using .NET Framework/Core (C# ASP.NET Web API)
- Experience integrating with and designing data stores using both SQL technologies - MS SQL, Oracle or Redis.
- Experience with TeamCity, Jenkins/Ansible
- Extensive knowledge of JavaScript, ES6+, CSS, HTML and DOM.
- Experience of React, Angular, Typescript and vanilla JavaScript.
- Solid understanding of the modern JavaScript build tool chain using things like node, npm, yarn, webpack and rollup.
- Experience delivering Single Page web applications following responsive design principles and PWA best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of programming best practices, design patterns etc.
- Strong problem solving skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience with common .NET patterns and libraries (ie MVVM, Rx, NUnit)
- Experience with desktop based deployments of web based user interfaces using platforms like OpenFin, Electron
- Experience of UI and unit testing frameworks like Mocha, Jest, Jasmine, Karma, Storybook and Selenium.
- Experience profiling and optimising browser based applications.
- Experience working in an investment banking or similar environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in an agile based software development life cycle including technical analysis, documentation, development, testing and code reviews.
- Work closely with the other developers in determining and following best development and architecture practice.
- Work closely with business users and UX designers to refine application requirements and interfaces.
- Mentor less experienced developers through pair programming and code review.
- Fully participate in requirement and design meetings for new functionality.
- Provide 3rd line application support on a rotation basis within the team.
