We are heading up a recruitment drive for a global consultancy that requires a DV-cleared Architecture Community Lead join them on a major Defence project that's based in Cheltenham.

Job Title - Architecture Community Lead
Day Rate - £700/day
Location - Cheltenham - Onsite work
iR35 determination - Inside
Duration - 12 months

Architecture Community Lead

Role description:

  • Working within West Chief Technology Office (CTO) to deliver, support and maintain an active Architecture Community comprising engineering and technical resources from the authority, and industry partners.
  • The S3 Architecture Community exists to share knowledge, ideas, discuss architectures shown to work (and not to), exploring why - with the goal of developing and improving the approach to, and implementation of architecture, for the benefit of all engineering teams.
  • Lead the Tech Office initiative to develop and grow a thriving architecture across West, organising and co-ordinating events.
  • Establish a network with key stakeholders across Client Directorate of Research and Engineering (DRE) and to promote the architecture community, and surface other areas where the enterprise is sharing knowledge (or would benefit from sharing by others).
  • Note: The Architecture Community Lead will need to have DV clearance and be based in Gloucestershire.

Set of outcomes for Architecture Community lead:

Continue and develop the Architecture Community:

  • Including SharePoint
  • Coordinate and communicate the subjects, speakers and events.

Provide an inclusive mix of collaborative discussions:

  • Directive - How will this impact you/your team
  • Interactive - show & tell, with input/feedback from audience
  • Responsive - facilitating discussion on topics driven by the community
  • Connecting the right subjects with the right audience.
  • Sign posting of other events to the community.

Motivating the Architecture Community to contribute and benefit from being part of the community.

Measuring and reporting success and feedback, ie real world value &output is realised, ensuring it is not just a talking shop.


  • Technical appreciation to understand topics and goals of Architecture. - not expected to be a technical expert.
  • Stakeholder engagement/management.
  • Communications management. (Including Presentation and Facilitation skills.)
  • Benefits Management - Understand how to measure the correct outcomes.
  • Prior Knowledge of West DRE would be advantageous.
