Location: London/Croydon/Hove - 80% home-working

Duration: 6 months rolling

Rate: £500 per day (inside IR35)

Key Essential Skills:

  • Strong experience with Cloud Architectures, particularly AWS (5+ years).
  • Expertise in at least one Server Side language (Python, Java/Kotlin, NodeJS).
  • Experienced in source control and CI/CD tooling technologies (eg Jenkins, GitHub, Terraform).
  • AWS Certified Developer Associate.

Desirable Skills:

  • Commercial experience with one or more popular app state management libraries.
  • Commercial experience with React and/or React Native UI framework.
  • Able to demonstrate the release of apps on Apple's Appstore and Google's Playstore.
  • Understands nuances between iOS and Android development.
  • Good understanding of the bridge between Native and React Native and how to create wrappers for Native SDK's or full custom modules for both iOS (ObjC/Swift) and Android (Java).

Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced, professional, and talented Software Engineer (DevOps). The Software Engineer will work within the Customers business product team, in a DevOps role, which comprises of the full software delivery life cycle, from discovery, through to design, build, deploy and run/optimize. The Software Engineer will work closely with the product owner, architects, and scrum master to bring new functionality and technical improvements to market.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, maintain and mature a highly secure multi-account enterprise AWS infrastructure in close coordination with other product team, Enterprise Security and Enterprise IT.
  • Provide input to backlog management process ie estimating size and nature of backlog items to inform prioritisation and scheduling.
  • Engage with end users, intent owners to identify required outcomes, needs and produce software that successfully delivers.
  • Create well-designed, testable code that enables automation of test and deployment activity.
  • Integrate software components into the broad function and technical solution landscape, using common standards and patterns.
  • Document and maintain software functionality in order for it to be understood and utilised by others.
  • Provide operational run services for the software delivered - debugging, monitoring and delivery of fixes to issues indentified. This could include participation in shift working to provide 24/7 support.
  • Contribute to wider engineering community direction, tooling and technologies.
