Description

We are looking for a FIX On-Boarding & Client Integration Engineer for a Global Client Connectivity Platform. The successful candidate will deliver new clients on to the Equities franchise, communicate to the business to define requirements, and be responsible for end-to-end technical delivery of client on-boards.

The role will require in-depth knowledge of client connectivity, including institutional, retail and low-latency electronic flow types, as well as high-touch and PT. It will specialize in FIX integration of client systems globally.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate and own electronic, high-touch and program trading client FIX on-boards.
  • Configure Electronic Equities systems to on-board external FIX & SWIFT order & allocation flows
  • Coordinate certification sessions with clients and third-party providers
  • FIX customisations to facilitate client and internal desk requirements
  • Track multiple certifications at once and maintain a document of the certification queue
  • Identify new functionality and define business requirements for vendor and in-house development teams
  • Lead meetings with business and IT partners to communicate status, raise risks
  • Write and maintain accurate FIX Specifications
  • Liaise with internal and external network and/or UNIX engineering teams to build and maintain physical connectivity and routing to third-party FIX providers and internal systems
  • Maintain record of vendors and functionality that has been certified on the platform
  • Identify and assist in resolution of risks and issues that will adversely affect planned project milestones
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and proficiency for detailed documentation
  • Automation of FIX based test-scenarios
  • Work with post trade business and IT teams on Middle Office, client strategy and commissions management
  • SL3 production support & troubleshooting of software and networking issues. Focus on client FIX sessions, client and internal desk queries. Communicate, escalation and ownership of issues through to resolution.

Essential

  • Excellent knowledgeable of the FIX Protocol (minimum 5 years)
  • IT Finance industry experience
  • Knowledge of cash and swap equities order flow
  • Knowledge of Synthetic PB business and Swaps orders
  • Agency trading business knowledge is preferred
  • Knowledge of Front Office trade life cycle is mandatory
  • Knowledge of middle and Back Office workflows is preferred
  • Knowledgeable of OMS/EMS functionalities and corresponding order execution work-flow
  • Working knowledge of FIX allocation and confirmation workflow
  • Understanding of buy and sell side business.
  • Knowledge of Equities and Derivatives markets
  • Basic knowledge of physical networking concepts and troubleshooting
  • Experience of reading and configuring XML files, including ATDL
  • Experience managing multiple deliverables, delivering to demanding and mandatory deadlines

Preferred

  • Knowledge of SWIFT protocol would be beneficial
  • Experience working with Flextrade, ULLINK and VeriFIX would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of European exchange connectivity and market structure would be advantageous
  • Experience using Bloomberg terminal
  • Scripting experience - Shell, Python
  • GIT, Bitbucket, Artifactory and Jira experience is preferred
  • Any prior experience of FIX based test automation to increase operational efficiency would advantageous
  • Experience testing trading algorithms
  • Good working knowledge Unix and SQL
