My client, a leading tier 1 investment bank, is looking for a SAS Platform Technical Administrator to join their team in London. They are offering up to £600/day on a 6 month rolling contract with a long term view.Role: SAS Platform Techincial Administrator
Rate: Up to £600/day
Duration: 6 month rolling - long term view
Location: London
Responsible for:
- Platform and SAS Grid Administration (SAS 9.4).
- Grid Infrastructure Support - Platform LSF, Process Manager and Platform RTM.
- LASR Administration.
- SAS Visual Analytics platform administration and performance monitoring.
- SAS SNA platform with VM images admin and monitoring.
- Memex shared environment conditions and monitoring.
- Security framework. User and security administration in metadata.
- Configuration changes.
- Establish new SAS 9.4 Advanced Architecture components such as Environment Manager.
- Job scheduling and monitoring with LSF Job Scheduler
- Support silent deployment and upgrade approach (whereby the upgrade process is fully automated).
- Metadata server backup and restores, Content server backup and restore.
- Operate /Support Management Console.
- Troubleshoot user issues - Server/Client/Middle Tier
- Hands on training to the staff on project in relation to above activities.
- Continual service level improvements identify areas of good practice (e.g. support migrations, application of updates, etc…)
Start/restart of services (LASR server, midtier, etc.) (when errors happens and when reconfiguration has taken place and needs to go into effect)
Essential:
- Min 5 years as an administrator
- Ability to take on above responsibilities
- Platform and SAS Grid Administration (> SAS 9.3 - we use SAS9.4M2)
- SAS Grid design, configuration and implementation ongoing
- Linux scripting knowledge - performance and monitoring
- Pro-active. "Can do" mind-set and attitude
- Some vendor engagement experience
- Good presentation skills
Useful:
- Exposure to operating across multiple global locations with accommodate various cultures and practices
- Exposure to Hadoop
