We’re looking for someone to join our team who loves creating incredible user experiences. You will have the opportunity to work alongside a talented group of designers, engineers and project managers to build shopping tools that affect people across the world.

The HIG (Human Interface Group) at eBay is an interdisciplinary troupe of visual designers, coders, analysts, and writers. We form dynamic groups that solve strategic user experience design challenges.

As part of the team, you will primarily focus on the Mobile Web experience.  It’s a small, lean part of the organization that moves quickly, pushes innovation and has a big impact on the overall business. Think agency-style agility and creativity with the solid infrastructure and resources of a global company.

At eBay you will:

• Work with project managers, developers and stakeholders to ensure that what we’re designing meets the needs of the end user
• Effectively communicate user interaction through deliverables such as wireframes and prototypes
• Wireframe and mockup pixel perfect user interfaces with your design application of choice or in the browser (when appropriate)
• Design web and mobile application interfaces and interactions
• Actively participate in design critiques/reviews and product discussions
• Think deeply about the user experience and usability issues
• Craft responsive interfaces that look great on a variety of platforms
• QA the implementation of your designs

You’re qualified because:

• You have a portfolio that shows thoughtful and tightly crafted experiences
• Your ability to design exceptional user interfaces is second-to-none
• Mobile and responsive design/development is not an after-thought
• You have a burning passion for providing a great experience to users
• You understand design and user interface best practices for both web and mobile apps.
• You’re proficient in handcrafting HTML5 and CSS3
• You get things done whether you’re working autonomously or in a team setting
• You have great communication skills, and the ability to explain your design decisions comes naturally

You’ll get bonus points for knowing a little something about:

• Version control with Git
• Responsive frameworks like Bootstrap & Foundation
• Web animation
• After Effects
• Familiarity with A/B testing
• Conducting user testing and customer interviews
• Creating icons
