SQL DBA, Investment Banking, Immediate hire.SQL DBA is required to join a large banking client of mine based in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven SQL DBA professional to join a growing financial client and a great way for any determined SQL DBA to enhance their career and skill set within the Microsoft SQL Server technology. As the SQL DBA will be joining the infrastructure team and will be responsible for supporting all around the UK and overseas, this role will be working shifts between 7am-7pm on a 35 hour week however this will not include any weekend work as they have a follow the sun methodology. You as the SQL DBA will be working responsible for SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 (Development, Clustered and Standalone) to help support the global offices. The current systems are run in a Microsoft environment so you will need to have experience working in a Microsoft platform.
Essential Skills and Experience:
SQL DBA will require expert knowledge in the following technologies and platforms, these skills are essential to the requirement.
You will have a strong background in the following technologies: SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008.
You will also need hands on technical experience with the following operating systems, Windows 2003 and 2008. Also as the SQL DBA you will need experience with Backup, Restore and DR processes/design (using SQL tools, Networker, Cluster failover, disk strategies).
The following skills and experience are highly desirable by the client however they are not a mandatory requirement; understanding of .Net environments, understanding of SAN environments (EMC Symmetrix, Clariion IBM XIV), geo-clustering, BCV and SRDF, exposure to Oracle (version 11) and Linux and software Certification is desirable but not essential if substituted by over 3 years relevant IT experience.
