eBay’s Human Interaction Group is seeking a Senior User Interface Designer. HIG collaborates across the ecosystem to design and build beautifully human end-to-end solutions. We build deep and broad knowledge to solve today’s high-stakes design problems while facilitating thoughtful consideration of the future of commerce. This is the most exciting time for Design at eBay and we’re looking for a rockstar visual designer with UX smarts. We’re a small, lean part of the organization that moves quickly, pushes innovation and has a big impact on the overall business. As part of the team, you will primarily focus on two areas:
- leading and designing gorgeous research projects that solve user needs
- governing product design standards, patterns, interactions and systems
At eBay you will:
- Work with project managers, developers and stakeholders to ensure that what we’re designing meets user needs
- Design intuitive user interactions through HCI deliverables including flow diagrams, wireframes, mocks and prototypes
- Design web and mobile application interfaces and interactions
- Actively participate in design critiques/reviews and product discussions
- Think deeply about user experience and usability issues
- QA the implementation of your designs
YOU ARE BRILLIANT
- You love creating beautiful user experiences
- You doodle and can quickly sketch your ideas
- Your portfolio shows your fresh and smart design aesthetic
- Your communication skills are unparalleled
- You know how to develop projects from concept to completion and know the art of the pitch
- You know how to write copy (headlines and presentations)
- Mobile and responsive design/development is not an after-thought
- You know your way around HTML, CSS and WordPress
- You get things done whether you’re working autonomously or in a team setting
- You’re beast mode in Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud and Keynote (We use Sketch too!)
- You come from an agency or product background
You’ll get bonus points for knowing a little something about:
- Responsive frameworks like Bootstrap & Foundation
- Conducting user testing and customer interviews
- Familiarity with A/B testing
- Custom Illustration
- Web animation
- After Effects
