My client is a first tier machine builder, who is responsible for the specification, design and engineering of high tech/precision modules, professional products and capital intensive equipment. Right now they are seeking for a talented Industrial Automation Design Architect to join the team. The successful candidate will become part of the international, industrial, family company and will work together in a professional way, in an informal environment. There will be plenty of opportunities for personal development.

Job Responsibilities
As an Industrial Automation Design Architect you are responsible for the architecture, design, implementation and maintenance of the software for complex modules/machines. Our client creates high tech modules/machines, the Flow department focuses on high precision production tools for large area printed electronics. Configuration management is used to provide maximum commonality between different modules/machine types.
In close co-operation with colleagues from other disciplines and strategic customer (mechanics, mechatronics, and electronics) the industrial automation design architect is a member of a multi-disciplinary team. The architect is also responsible for testing and implementation of the control system in the field and plays an important role in the commissioning of the machine by the customer.

Skills Requirement
* You will have a Bachelor or Master degree in a technical discipline.
* At least 5 years as a software design architect for machine control and/or high-end equipment (OEM), multidisciplinary development teams with an academic working and thinking level, degree in a technical subject.

You will have hands-on experience in:
- behaviour model driven design, control software.
- software architectures (patterns) and design for complex machine control.
- hardware/software interface development for modules.
- system and servo drive tuning.
- setting up software development environment.
- Capability Maturity Model.
- installation and start-up of complex control systems in the field.
- remote and on-site service and support.
- managing interfaces with electronics, mechanics and mechatronics disciplines.
- Defining design- and acceptance specifications.
- Technical communication with development partners/suppliers.
- Experience with roll-to-roll production systems is a benefit.

Personal skills
Within your personal skills, you are a highly motivated team player, a good communicator (English and preferably also Dutch) and a creative negotiator. You are capable of abstract and out-of-the-box thinking, you can handle stressful situations, and prepared to travel typically 25% of your time.
