Description
Implementation Engineer/Specialist - Belgium - (Other European Locations may be considered)Implement systems at airports across Europe region. The role covers the software staging of the server systems at the lab, followed by the on airport implementation.
Perform installation and configuration of software platforms, airline applications and LAN & WAN infrastructure for airport projects.
Support project managers in verifying system designs and hardware requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Installation of Airport Services products.
- Interface with internal technical groups regarding requirements for implementation ofairport systems.
- Install, Configure, and Test, Intel PC based workstations that are setup at LAN/WAN installations.
- Install, Configure, and Test, Servers, WAN gateways, Network Management Systems.
- Install, Configure, and Test, customer written programs used for host access around the world.
- Install Configure, and Test specialized printers for boarding cards and baggage tags.
- Provide hands-on training to local staff that run sub-systems at airport/airline installations.
- Troubleshoot technical problems and provide reports as specified by management.
- Liaise with airline technical representatives for customer requirements, solving technical problems etc..
- Provide technical supervision of sub-contractors installing hardware, maintaining systems etc.
- Interface with engineering teams.
- Provide documentation to various departments as required.
Education & Qualifications
- College degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronic orsimilar
- Where applicable a recognised professional qualification is desirable.
- At least 3 years experience in deployment or support of application software, implementing systems and modules with experience in multiple full lifecycle implementations.
Knowledge & Skills
- College degree or an equivalent training in Computer Science, Information Management or Data Communications.
- Min. 3+ years experience in IT or Telecommunication
- Strong working knowledge of airport computing environment.
- Working knowledge ofCommon Use equipment at airports and network environments. (Essential)
- Basic project management skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Good level of Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (2008 server and windows 7)
- Knowledge of TCP/IP
- Knowledge ofSwitched Ethernet environments
- Knowledge of Cisco Firewalls, Switches and Routers (Essential)
- Ability to travel within Europe on a regular basis (approx. 40-50%)
- Excellent written and spoken English.
