Our client is looking for a web design engineer. The applications software development team works on multiple product ranges. They provide a range of user facing applications which interoperate with the embedded software/hardware products, allowing customers to create usable systems and installations. Focusing on complex multi-product systems integration, the team develops a range of different software products which permit the creation of large complex AV systems. With an increasing variety of end user devices available to the customer, the team is focusing on the use of Web Technologies to provide platform independent, feature rich user interfaces. These will provide the primary customer interface to products from simple, low level setup and configuration, through to complex, system level functionality.Key Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of a senior software engineer to develop applications for sophisticated A/V systems
Support and maintain existing software applications.
Produce clear and concise design documentation of software designs and interfaces.
Design and development of software and systems to detailed specifications, and in accordance with ISO9001 procedures.
Essential skills:
Good all round experience developing web applications deployed on different OS.
Experience working with web UI frameworks like ExtJS/JQueryUI.
Strong Java Script experience.
Experience with Web Services and communication technologies such as REST, RPC, SOAP
Solid understanding of object-oriented design and programming principles
Understand of MVC and other design patterns
UK First Degree level (or equivalent) qualification
2 or more years commercial experience
Excellent communication and presentation skills, (written, and verbal)
Good communicator able to work co-operatively in a team environment
Desirable Skills:
Experience with IIS configuration.
Experience working with SQL database programming.
Knowledge and awareness of latest web technologies like HTML5 and CSS3.
Knowledge of TCP/IP and socket programming.
Media streaming technologies.
Web development for mobile platforms.
Experience with audio and video processing
