WordPress Themer (remote)

Description

As a WordPress Theme Wrangler, you will be responsible for breathing life into our designs. You just love themes, and you probably are a designer too! You may be an oldie who’s happy with Photoshop or Fireworks, or you could be one of us already on board and loving Sketch. You’ve built numerous themes and dabbled with various frameworks. You may even have built your own framework or starter theme. And you so love front-end web development.

You need:

Nuanced sense of design.

World class HTML + SASS + WordPress API skills.

Working knowledge of jQuery and its many plugins.

Understanding of PHP and JavaScript.

Excellent writing and documentation skills.

Excellent English language skills.

Flexible work hours (job may require you to work on Eastern Standard Time).

You must love all things Apple and Mac.

About You

Your office is wherever your laptop ( and WiFi ) is. Because of this, frequent and clear communications is a must.

You are a self starter. Initiative is your middle name.

You are passionate about learning. You are never stuck with what you presently know.

Your Trial
Compatibility is important. Since we are a small flat team who (initially) works remotely, we need to be able to build trust with each other.

Before we officially hire you, you will be working under a paid trial period lasting from 3 to 10 weeks depending on how well you improve and perform. Your evaluation starts as early as your third week. No worries, we’ll help you through it!

During your Trial, you will train with tools and workflows you may already ( or not ) be familiar with. You will be working on actual projects initially under the guidance of our Head of Development.
