Firmware, Comms protocols, RTOS, ARM

I am currently looking for a firmware engineer to work for a key client of mine in Dover. You will be required to have strong experience with bare metal firmware development, particularly for ARM based microcontrollers. You will be required to have RTOS experience and understanding of comms protocols.

Job Type: Contract

Location: Dover

Duration: 6 months

Rate: £37 - £45 p/h

The client is an international communications company who are currently expanding their development team to account for additional projects they have just won.

It is essential that you have strong, bare metal firmware development experience.

Skills Needed:
  • Strong experience with ARM-based processor architectures (ARM9, ARM Cortex-A8, ARM Cortex-M4, etc.
  • Proficient with Embedded RTOS development (Linux Kernel 2.6.x or above) and bare metal systems.
  • Tool chain configuration and cross-compilation
  • Kernel configuration and driver development
  • Graphics Library for Embedded platforms (Qt 4.x or above)
  • Code development in C, C++, C#, Visual Studio
  • Cross compilers (C++ ARM cross-compiler GCC version 4.3.3, IAR Embedded Workbench)
  • Version control systems (Tortoise SVN, GIT)
  • Understanding of RS-232, I2C,SPI, USB, Ethernet and packet based communication protocols
  • Experience with typical Embedded control peripherals (ie RAM, Flash, UART, PWM, A/D).
