The BSD Tools (SaaS) are the most effective and user-friendly software for organizing, engaging, and activating audiences online. The Tools help charities, political organizations, brands, and advocacy groups build meaningful relationships with the people that matter most — to raise money, sway public opinion, drive policy change, and win elections. The BSD Tools team is seeking a talented user experience strategist and designer to join the team in Boston on a contract basis. The ideal candidate has extensive experience developing and launching user-friendly interfaces for software products and is a natural advocate for the user throughout the design and development cycle.
Strong candidates will be fluent in all aspects of user experience practice, from research and strategy to designing and documenting experiences, conducting usability tests, to seeing technical implementation all the way through. Experience with copywriting and content strategy, visual design, or agile web development are big plusses.
Job Requirements
A typical week in this role would include:
- Helping to design and redesign features and functionality on the platform; identifying and prioritizing focus areas
- Developing user journeys — for software admin and end users — to refine and explore these features
- Designing interactions and communicating these designs using sketches, wireframes and prototypes
- Working with visual designers and developers to build and deploy new features in an agile project
- Conducting user interviews and usability tests to collect feedback on the project and optimize performance
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience leading and implementing successful user experience designs on software and web platforms
- Fluency in modern UX standards and a passion for emerging practices
- Strong writing and presentation skills
- Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally
- SaaS experience
