Position Overview:NYCEDC is seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer who can jump in and build the best possible services for our users. We’re looking for someone who has solid experience with the following technology stack: PHP, Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL.This position will support the Lead Developer in the production and management of web applications. We’re a relatively small team and that means you’ll have the opportunity to take the lead on existing and future products. You’ll also have the freedom to spend time to research and implement new technology that will benefit the company. We are all self-driven people who get stuff done.   • Develop custom Drupal modules
  • Work with our strategy team to identify and create compelling data visualizations
  • Redesign our interactive maps to be more user and mobile friendly
  • Build new or extend existing multimedia assets like timelines and slideshows
  • Enhance existing internal projects like our project management tool
  • Monitor and survey site analytics, server performance, efficiency, and reports
  • Coordinate among cross-functional teams to identify challenges, make recommendations, and implement solutions.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5+ years of web/application development experience (professional/post grad)
  • Experience working with sites that rely on LAMP/LEMP architecture
  • Experience building, testing, and debugging modern web apps
  • Version control – must know how to use Git
  • Understanding of PAC/MVC architecture and the importance of writing pragmatic DRY code
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented principles, data structures and algorithms, profiling/optimization
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing with Drupal
  • Experience with development operations. You should be comfortable in a *nix environment. We practice automation and are moving towards continuous integration and deployment tools.
  • Experience working with API integrations
