Description

We are looking for a Systems Administrator - JIRA in NJ, details:

Location: Edison, NJ

Duration: 6 months+

Start: 2 weeks

A resource with good experience in customizing Jira. Specifically focusing on Groovy Scripting, leveraging and Jira API, the Jira object model, and the Jira database schema. Someone with experience in creating custom Jira plugins.

Has to be intimately familiar with Jira 6 or greater. Version 6 was almost a complete rewrite of Jira. The entire Scripting/API/object model is very different. Experience on 5 will not help here.

Will need Java development skills (Jira is a Java application) with Struts. Jira is a Struts based app - to develop on it you need some exposure to that framework.

Understanding of XML/Restful web service (RPC style WSDL) for integration with external systems. Pac2000 integration is accomplished via restful web services calls, so candidate will need to know how to do this.

Responsible for designing, implementing and supporting Jira. Additional responsibilities include creating and configuring Jira workflows, dashboards and notifications.

The JIRA System Administrator will be responsible for developing custom configurations using the JIRA solution which is in use by the team for issue/requirements definition and tracking to support Agile development as well as requirements traceability. This position will be responsible for developing or integrating JIRA with existing products in use as well as generating dashboard views and other depictions to support an Agile development effort.
The position includes detailed configuration for the tool including plug-ins available from JIRA as well as design and development, testing, and deployment.

Experience integrating JIRA with MS Project Server, MS Excel, and Oracle databases is desirable. Understanding, installation, configuration and use of varied JIRA bolt-ons is also very desirable.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers and leads with Development and integration of a robust Requirements Traceability plan and tools;
  • Work with the Team and project management on implementing the associated features, reports and requirements;
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and development manager on the use of the JIRA tool and processes for capturing and tracing testable requirements using the JIRA tool
    Collaborate with staff to ensure the JIRA access and usage is built to be user friendly and support users as needed.

Will have to travel to Charlotte occasionally for official purpose.
