Description

Our Client is looking for a Scientific Application Developer (Python) for a permanent role in Lisburn, Northern Ireland.

They are looking for a good team player with a postive enthusiastic attitude, who copes well underpressure meeting deadlines and solving complex problems using creative solutions. Someone who has great communication skills and is adaptive; able to pick up new techniques.the perfect candidate will have motivation to create high quality products, systems while demonstrating initiative and attention to detail with high levels of ownership and commitment, whilst stil being quality focused.

The Scientific Application Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining a number of scientific applications and tools used to support manufacturing and field operations. This will involve working in a team to develop software and tests, following an agile methodology. The Primary responsibilities include; maintaining existing software and developing new software solutions; creating technical specifications and plans; ensuring product quality through unit testing, system testing and continuous integration and investigating new technologies and continually updating technical knowledge and skills.

To apply for this role you MUST have a minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science/ software engineering or equivalent discipline, Proven experience in desktop application development, preferably using Python and experience working closely with stakeholders to determine technical specifications

The perfect candidate will have strong technical skills in Python development, be familiar with data visualization, charting and graphing, have knowledge of user interface design principles and have experience interfacing with data acquisition hardware and with C/C++.
